Terms & Conditions

Global Forwarding LLC uses the utmost care in handling your cargo. However, there are many places in the supply chain where cargo may be lost or damaged. Your shipment may pass through many hands before it reaches its final destination. For example, a single shipment may involve; consolidators, truckers at both the origin and destination, an export packer, cargo hubs, piers or terminals, multiple Customs authorities at origin, destination and intermediate points, deconsolidators and others before your shipment reaches its final destination.

Incoterms affix responsibility to who is accountable for purchasing cargo insurance. However, unless the Incoterms have been agreed to and accepted as part of the sales agreement between shippers and consignees, there are sometimes disputes over whether they apply or not. This matter should always be discussed between the buyer and seller and included in your sales agreement to ensure that each knows their responsibilities. Furthermore, many people are not aware that insurance is not included in the transport costs.

Global Forwarding LLC believes it is prudent practice to purchase cargo insurance for your shipments and we are pleased to offer insurance through several companies. Please call or email us for an insurance quote. Remember, requests for cargo insurance must be made in writing as each insurance company will include that as a prerequisite to issuing a certificate.

Additionally, many people are not aware that a carrier has only limited liability coverage and that such liability coverage is not insurance.
